The much-awaited War 2, starring Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan and Telugu superstar Jr NTR, is gearing up for a power-packed Independence Day release on 14 August 2025. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is the newest entry in the YRF Spy Universe and is already creating waves at the box office — even before release.
₹4.24 Crore in Advance Booking — And Counting
According to Sacnilk.com, by 10:30 PM on Sunday, the advance booking for War 2 had crossed a staggering ₹4.24 crore. The bookings include:

The Hindi version of War 2 will storm 5,000 screens across India with a runtime of 2 hours 53 minutes. Internationally, YRF has planned a strong release, with 900 US screens offering paid previews. However, early overseas sales have been lukewarm — only about 1,600 tickets sold by Sunday, with some auditoriums still half-empty.
The film will also release in Telugu and Tamil for the Southern market — Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Puducherry — though with a limited number of shows.
India’s Costliest Spy Film
Made on a massive ₹400 crore budget, War 2 is being touted as India’s most expensive spy film. It promises high-octane action sequences, breathtaking visuals, and the ultimate face-off between Hrithik’s rogue R&AW agent Kabir and Jr NTR’s mysterious villain. Kiara Advani joins the franchise as the female lead, replacing Vaani Kapoor from the first War.
